Climbed Slemish for the second time today (the first was about 11/12years ago!), mainly for the geocache close to the summit but also to see if the trigpoint was there. Not having checked here first I was disappointed only to find the remains of fixing bolts and a couple of holes in the rock. Nevertheless we did find the geocache and had a very enjoyable walk in warm sunshine. The facilities here are excellent with a good car park and a toilet block. The road and car park are large enough for a motorhome. |

A good road leads to a car park and visitor centre on the north west side of Slemish Mountain. An information board describes the best route up which does involve a bit of a scramble. The summit provides an excellent view but as lightning was visible to the north west I didn't linger too long but made my way to the southern end and then skirted my way along the western side of the mountain.
